Wat Baan Kamala, Phuket

Wat Baan Kamala is a peaceful Buddhist temple located at the southern end of Kamala Beach, right beside a small river that flows into the sea. As the only Buddhist temple in this mainly Muslim village, it holds special significance. Visitors can donate, place gold leaf on Buddha statues, and quietly observe temple life. Remarkably, the temple withstood the 2004 tsunami, and its welcoming monks continue to share the serenity of their spiritual home.
