Where on Phuket is Merlin Beach located?

Merlin Beach is located between Patong Beach and Freedom Beach, directly across from Tri Trang Beach. It lies just off Muen-Ngoen Road and is easy to reach by car, motorbike, or even on foot from nearby beaches. It’s only about a 15-minute drive from Patong and less than 10 minutes from Tri Trang, making it perfect for a double beach day.

About Merlin Beach itself

Merlin Beach is no longer that 200 meters , with soft coral sand and gentle waves. The beach is framed by palm trees and rocky headlands, giving it a peaceful, enclosed feeling. It’s a great place to spread out a towel and relax with a good book or go exploring along the rocks. Just don’t forget sun protection and water shoes, especially if you plan to enter the sea.

The sea at Merlin Beach is clear and inviting, with the Merlin House Reef just offshore. While the sandy part is soft, the seabed quickly becomes rocky—water shoes are a must. During high tide in the dry season (Nov–Apr), the snorkeling is excellent, with coral formations and tropical fish just a short swim away. During the monsoon months, snorkeling is discouraged to help protect the reef.

How to get to Merlin Beach on Phuket?

From Patong, it’s a quick 10 to 15-minute drive south along Muen-Ngoen Road. You can also reach Merlin Beach from Tri Trang Beach by foot—it’s less than a 10-minute walk. Taxis and tuk-tuks are easy to find in Patong, and some resorts offer shuttle services. If you’re up for a longer beach day, consider visiting Freedom Beach or Paradise Beach nearby.
