Ripley’s Believe it or Not!, Pattaya
Discover the eerie thrills and oddities at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Pattaya. From chilling horror rides and haunted adventures

Entertainment and horror
In 2024, after visiting Moonwhale on the Royal Grand Plaza roof, we went inside to see Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Thailand’s Odditorium and some horror shows. It was an hour of fun after a great dinner with excellent cocktails.

Where in Pattaya is Royal Grand Plaza located?
Royal Garden Plaza is in the center of Pattaya, Thailand, between Beach Road and Pattaya Second Road in South Pattaya. A red airplane sticks out from the side on Pattaya Second Road, marking the entrance to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum.
Tip!
Combine a visit with Moonwhale on top of the Royal Grand Plaza.

Odditorium
The Odditorium is the main attraction, with over 350 exhibits across 10 themed galleries mixing the strange and amazing. Visitors see old torture devices next to artistic wonders like a Titanic model made from 1 million matchsticks. One gallery has a mask made from human skin, showing ancient rituals, while another has a real shrunken head from Amazon tribes. The collection combines shock and history, featuring a wax figure of the ‘four-eyed man’ (a genetic oddity) near delicate insect-wing art. This unique display turns every corner into a topic of interest, making the Odditorium a must-visit for fans of the unusual.

Ripley’s Scream in the Dark!
This laser-shooting dark ride takes visitors into a nightmare world of crazy clowns and undead creatures. Riders use laser guns to navigate glowing corridors where skeletons jump out and monsters appear in fog. The ride is interactive—screaming raises scores, and screens track accuracy. It’s good for teens, but the strong jump scares with strobe lights and loud sounds can be too much for young kids.

Ripley’s Haunted Adventure
Called ‘where nightmares come to life,’ this haunted house uses live actors and animatronics to create a creepy funeral home. Guests move through rooms full of coffins and ghostly parlors, meeting ghost brides and corpse-like caretakers. Unlike static scares, actors change their approach based on the crowd, so repeat visitors get new frights. The highlight is a mirror maze where reflections turn into monsters.

Horror Hospital (our favorite)
Opened in 2023, this hospital-themed horror experience has 12 rooms, including a bloodied maternity ward and a morgue with body-filled drawers. Live actors with realistic makeup hide in dark halls, using sudden touches like cold fake hands to scare guests. The realism can unsettle even horror fans—emergency exits are available for anyone who feels overwhelmed. The mental ward uses optical illusions to make walls seem like they’re breathing.

The Lost Pyramid
Ripley’s newest attraction, The Lost Pyramid (opened November 2024), takes visitors to ancient Egypt through 7 puzzle rooms. This family-friendly adventure mixes escape-room puzzles with history trivia. Guests decode hieroglyphics to open a sarcophagus, navigate a laser-lined tomb like the Great Pyramid, and face a 15-foot animatronic sphinx that quizzes them on pharaohs. Augmented reality tablets show hidden symbols, and hands-on tasks like fixing broken pottery teach as you play. Unlike Ripley’s scary rides, The Lost Pyramid focuses on learning, with exhibits about mummification and the Rosetta Stone.
