Salt Rooftop Bar: The best rooftop bar at Jomtien Beach!

Salt Rooftop Bar is on the top floor of the U Jomtien Hotel in Jomtien, near Pattaya. We heard good things about this cozy rooftop bar and wanted to enjoy the food and stunning 180-degree views of the beach, sea, and hills. Unfortunately, it thundered, flashed, and rained all evening, so we had to stay inside the Salt restaurant. Despite the bad weather, we had a lovely and comfortable evening! The food and drinks were surprisingly good, and the service was excellent. Next time, we’ll visit Salt Rooftop Bar and stay a few nights at the beautiful U Jomtien!

Salt Rooftop Bar is on the seventh floor of the U Jomtien Resort, located on Jomtien Beach Road. The resort is easy to reach by car, taxi, or Baht Bus. It sits in the quieter southern part of Jomtien Beach. Inside, you can easily find Salt Rooftop by taking the elevator straight to this beach-style rooftop.

The bar has a modern, stylish design with comfy lounge sofas, wooden touches, and soft lighting. Although it’s not as tall as other rooftop bars in Pattaya and Jomtien, guests still get a great ocean view. The whole resort feels relaxed and welcoming.

The service here is outstanding—true Thai hospitality! The staff were professional, friendly, and welcoming, which made our experience even better, despite not being able to dine on the roof.

From the hotel reception, we were greeted with genuine smiles. At Salt Restaurant, they explained the menu and gave helpful advice, leading us to great meal choices.

Salt Rooftop Bar and Salt Restaurant offer a varied menu with Thai and international dishes. Guests can enjoy fresh seafood, pizzas, and other favorites. There’s also a selection of creative cocktails, wines, beers, fruit juices, and soft drinks. The drink menu is well-chosen, reflected in the quality of each drink. This makes Salt Rooftop Bar a great place for cocktails after a day of exploring or relaxing.

Our experience at Salt Rooftop Bar in 2024

First, praise to the whole team; we felt welcome and relaxed all evening. When we chose to sit outside under cover, they quickly helped move our food and drinks.

Because of a heavy thunderstorm, we couldn’t sit outside at Salt Rooftop Bar. The friendly staff immediately offered us a table inside Salt Restaurant on the ground floor. As a welcome snack, they served spicy crispy balls filled with minced meat and cheese, which were delicious.

Salt Restaurant’s menu also has many healthy choices like salads. We started with a raw ham salad and a tuna salad with perfectly seared tuna. For the main course, we shared a crispy chicken burger and a tasty pizza. Everything was so good we ordered two desserts. Despite the bad weather, the evening was perfect thanks to the great team at U Jomtien! The tiramisu and warm chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream were excellent!
