Discover Moonwhale Pattaya, the chic rooftop bar atop Royal Garden Plaza. Sip signature cocktails while soaking in breathtaking bay views and vibrant sunsets. With a creative menu blending Thai and European flavors, stylish design, and a lively atmosphere, it’s your ultimate spot for unforgettable evenings in the heart of Pattaya.

Moonwhale Pattaya: The stylish rooftop bar with breathtaking views

Moonwhale Pattaya is a trendy rooftop bar and restaurant on the third floor of Royal Garden Plaza in central Pattaya. It offers amazing views of the bay and the Gulf of Thailand, a diverse menu, and a relaxed vibe. It’s the perfect spot for watching a beautiful sunset. Whether for a romantic dinner or a fun night with friends, Moonwhale promises a memorable time.

Where in Pattaya is Moonwhale located?

Moonwhale Pattaya is in the popular Royal Garden Plaza, a central shopping center on Beach Road. It’s easy to reach by public transport like the Baht Bus, and there’s parking for drivers.

The rooftop bar has wide views of Pattaya Beach and the sea, especially stunning at sunset. This makes Moonwhale a great spot for anyone who wants a lively atmosphere with a beautiful view.

Design & Atmosphere

Moonwhale Pattaya’s interior is modern and elegant with a sea-inspired theme. The whale-shaped bar, where bartenders show off their skills, is the highlight. Outside, the terrace has raised seating and cozy spots, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the view.

Some plants on the terrace partly block the view, but the design balances sleek materials with warm wood accents.

Service & Hospitality

During our visit, the service didn’t fully meet the usual high Thai hospitality standards. However, this might have been a one-time issue. With better training and management, there’s good potential for improvement.

What’s on the menu at Moonwhale Pattaya?

Moonwhale Pattaya’s menu offers a lively mix of dishes that go well with their unique cocktails. Highlights include Truffle Fries (280 THB) with truffle mayo and parmesan, and Jalapeno Poppers (260 THB), crispy fried jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and served with aioli verde. The menu blends comfort food with gourmet flavors, perfect for casual snacks or something more upscale.

The drinks menu is varied, featuring unique cocktails, old and new world wines, and local craft beers. Soft drinks, coffee, and fresh juices are also available. Moonwhale’s cocktail menu in Pattaya offers creative drinks inspired by nature and the sea.

Signature cocktails like the Pacific (Suntory Kakubin Whisky, Chardonnay, Vermouth, Ginger) and Southern (Plantation 3 Star Rum, Pisco, Seaweed, Blue Curacao) cost 320 THB and offer bold, refreshing flavors. For a more adventurous choice, the 2552 mixes Mekhong Thai Rum, Banana, Pandan, Apple, and Smoke Air for 350 THB. The Krill cocktail, with Monkey Shoulder Whisky, Tropical Fruit, Lemon, and Egg White, is the premium option at 400 THB. Each drink blends regional flavors with creativity, making Moonwhale a top spot for cocktail lovers.

Our experience at Moonwhale in 2024

When we arrived at Moonwhale Pattaya, the sun was setting, creating a stunning view. We started with one of their signature cocktails and ordered a few starters. The guacamole stood out—it was a DIY dish with all the ingredients to mix ourselves, making it the most fun guacamole we’ve had! We also enjoyed tender satay served with crispy rice crackers instead of bread, a nice twist.

Next, we tried the shrimp and pomelo salad—a fresh and tasty mix. We also sampled Gui Chai Tod, a traditional Thai snack from nearby Maha Thai. For our main course, we picked pasta with braised beef from Nonna & Son, another restaurant in the same group.
