Super fresh and flavorful Japanese cuisine

The toro and salmon nigiri are particularly noteworthy, melting in your mouth with every bite. Our memorable visit

Before our massage appointment at Let’s Relax Spa in the Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi, we made a dinner reservation at Kikuzuki Japanese Izakaya, just outside Ao Nang’s lively center. We were staying at the cozy The Medal Bungalow near Krabi Town, and with our scooter, it was a scenic 20-minute ride to the restaurant — easy, convenient, and well worth it.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and seated outside on the elevated terrace, decorated with softly glowing paper lanterns that added a charming touch to the atmosphere. The team had already switched on the mosquito repellent system, which we appreciated. We kicked off the evening with fruity-flavored Asahi beers on draft, trying a few different varieties. The melon flavor stood out as our absolute favorite — light, refreshing, and surprisingly smooth.

Dinner was truly unforgettable. We savored some of the best sashimi we’ve ever had — including three types of premium tuna and other melt-in-your-mouth cuts. We followed that with beautifully prepared sushi, a mix of perfectly grilled yakitori, tender eel served over rice, crispy vegetables in tempura batter, and a side of edamame. Every bite was packed with flavor, fresh, and thoughtfully plated.

We only wish we had more time in Krabi to return for a second visit. Without a doubt, Kikuzuki will be our first stop the next time we set foot on Ao Nang’s sand — it’s simply that good.

Whether you’re craving sushi, ramen, or a variety of small plates to share, Kikuzuki Japanese Izakaya Robatayaki delivers on all fronts. The ramen, with its rich, flavorful broth and tender chashu pork, is the perfect comfort food after a day of exploring, while the sushi and sashimi impress with top-quality fish and refined presentation. Pair your meal with a smooth glass of sake, Japanase Whiskey, cocktail or a fruit-flavored Asahi beer for the full Japanese dining experience.

Kikuzuki stands out as a must-visit in Ao Nang for Japanese cuisine lovers and has become one of our favorite restaurants in Ao Nang! With its high-quality food, warm service, and stylish, relaxed setting, it’s a top pick for both locals and travelers—whether you’re out for a casual evening or a special night to remember.
