Mango Bay, Koh Tao
Mango Bay, also known as Ao Muong Beach, is a secluded paradise bay in Koh Tao with excellent snorkeling opportunities. You can stay there or explore the area with a longtail boat for a day trip.

Explore the beauty of Mango Bay on Koh Tao
Snorkeling from the terrace of the Mango Bay Boutique Resort is definitely a must! You can’t get to Mango Bay beach by scooter or taxi, only through the resort. This small beach is not so easy to reach by land. To enter the resort, you pay 100 Baht. After that, you’ll follow a few steps that lead you to a beautiful terrace on the rocks. From this terrace, you can take a staircase down into the water for some snorkeling.

The Beach at Mango Bay
The beach at Mango Bay is clearly visible from the terrace, and with a bit of swimming skills and average fitness, you can even swim there. Just don’t forget your dry bag to keep your belongings nice and dry! But if you prefer to stay on the terrace, that’s totally fine too. There are sunbeds where you can relax, and you can grab some tasty snacks and drinks.

Enjoy Mango Bay: Hotels with complimentary boat shuttle
Mango Bay is home to two beautiful hotels: Mango Bay Boutique Resort and Ao Muong Beach Resort. Both offer free boat shuttle services to the harbor and Nang Yuan Island twice a day. The boat transfers, both at departure and arrival, are also complimentary. Enjoy the serene surroundings and crystal-clear waters while you stay at one of these unique resorts, perfect for those seeking tropical vacation destinations.

Snorkeling adventures: Finding the best spots around Koh Tao
With strong winds coming from the west, the sea at Mango Bay can be less calm. Visibility underwater may also be reduced, which can make snorkeling disappointing. It’s a good idea to ask the local boat operator for advice. If the sea is too rough at Mango Bay, snorkeling is often excellent on the other side of Koh Tao. Other options include Tanote Bay or Aow Leuk, both of which are top spots for snorkeling and diving.
