Sip a drink and keep that beach beautiful

Next to the small pebble beach, you’ll find a cozy bar run by a lady who makes sure the beach stays clean. For entry to the beach, she expects you to buy a drink from her. During our visits to Hin Wong Bay, the beach was indeed nice and clean, but sometimes the bar was closed. The prices are reasonable; a can of soda costs 40 baht. If you don’t want to buy a drink, she asks for an involuntary donation of 50 baht. So, buying a drink is always the smartest choice!

How to get to Hin Wong Bay

By boat: The easiest way to reach Hin Wong Bay is by longtail boat. Most snorkeling tours also make a stop at this beautiful bay, allowing you to enjoy breathtaking views along the way!

By taxi: Prefer a taxi? From Sairee Beach, it costs about 100 baht per person, with a minimum of 4 people for a one-way trip. This is a convenient option if you’re traveling with a group!

By scooter: For the adventurous, there’s a nearly complete route with a (narrow) paved road. Keep in mind that the road first goes steeply uphill and then back down again. Make sure you have a powerful scooter! With two people on one scooter, it can be challenging to conquer the steep hills.

On foot: Yes, you read that right; it’s possible, we did it too. It takes about an hour to walk from Sairee Beach to Hin Wong Bay. It can be a bit of a workout, especially if you’re not an experienced hiker in the tropics. But once you arrive, you can be proud of yourself! Just make sure not to leave too late, or it might be tricky to arrange transportation back. For most people, walking the route once is enough. And remember, sneakers are much better than flip-flops!
