Giant Summit Samui: THE Must-Visit Viewpoint on Koh

“WOW, what an amazing location!” That was our first reaction when we arrived at the Giant Summit Samui. This unique restaurant, high in the Namuang mountains of Koh Samui, not only offers breathtaking panoramic views but also delicious Thai dishes and refreshing drinks. It has since become our favorite viewpoint on Samui.

Where on Koh Samui is Giant Summit located?

The Giant Summit is located between Lamai and Lipa Noi Beach, nestled in the lush hills of Koh Samui. With a 180-degree view of the island, the sea, and neighboring islands, this is a place you don’t want to miss. The restaurant is easily accessible by scooter, taxi, or car, with ample parking available.

Combine a visit with the Tarnim Magic Garden, Wat Kunaram, or the Na Mueang waterfalls. The drive takes you through lush jungle, durian and mango plantations, and ends in a stunning mountain landscape. From Lamai, it’s about a 30-minute drive, from Chaweng 45 minutes, and from Bophut an hour. A taxi ride from Bophut costs between 800 and 1,200 THB. Visit the Giant Summit Samui just before sunset for an unforgettable view!

Design & Atmosphere

The restaurant exudes authentic Thai charm, with a large terrace that takes full advantage of the spectacular view. Both indoor and outdoor wooden seating are available, and a small covered area provides shelter in case of rain. No trendy luxury, but a warm and informal atmosphere – exactly what makes Giant Summit Samui so special.

Service & Hospitality

The typical Thai hospitality completes your visit. The friendly staff serves dishes with a smile, and the owner even surprised us with a bag of fresh mangosteens from her own garden. A personal touch that makes this place extra special!

The menu at Giant Summit Samui

The menu is full of fresh, locally prepared Thai dishes, from Pad Thai and Tom Yum to seafood curry served in a coconut. Vegetarian options are also available. We enjoyed huge prawns, spicy Thai beef salad, and delicious crab cakes. For dessert, we chose fresh fruit and the indispensable mango sticky rice.

At sunset, we sipped on a coconut and later enjoyed flavorful cocktails before our taxi safely returned us to Lamai Beach.
