Pepenero: A review of Koh Samui’s finest Italian Restaurant

During our stay in Koh Samui, we decided to visit Pepenero, an Italian restaurant renowned for its delicious dishes and warm hospitality. Located between the popular beaches of Maenam and Bophut, it was the perfect spot for a romantic evening.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Paolo, one of the owners. With a smile, he led us to a charming table in the garden, surrounded by lush greenery. The atmosphere was immediately relaxed and inviting, making us feel right at home.

Savoring Italian flavors

Our culinary journey began with a sparkling Prosecco, offered by the team to celebrate our love. It quickly felt like a special occasion, and we were excited about what the evening would bring. As we perused the menu, we knew we could expect surprises from the creativity of the chefs.

One of the highlights of our evening was “La Raspadura,” a stunning piece of cheese that Paolo shaved at our table. He showcased his skills as he expertly cut the cheese and presented it with nuts and grapes. The rich flavor and creamy texture were a perfect start to our dinner.

After the cheese, we enjoyed Pancetta di Capitelli, a delicious Italian bacon that is prepared three times. The combination of slowly roasted meat with a hint of honey and smokiness was truly heavenly. Every bite was a delightful exploration for our taste buds.

To top off our evening, we enjoyed a luscious torta di cioccolato. This chocolate cake was perfectly sweet and creamy, and it felt bittersweet to realize that our evening was coming to an end. We could have easily stayed for hours more, savoring the delicious food and the lovely atmosphere.
