The last few days before our wedding we spent some time at the phenomenal Villa Chi on Koh Samui. An ideal accommodation where you can completely unwind. Villa Chi is located in the north of Koh Samui, directly on Bang Po Beach and adjacent to Ban Tai Beach. This beautiful beach is known for its white sand and clear blue waters, making it perfect for relaxation and enjoying scenic views.

In the distance, you can see the island of Koh Phangan to the south. At Bang Po Beach, a pristine stretch of coastline, it’s almost always nice and quiet. Besides a few other villas, you’ll find some restaurants, but it certainly isn’t touristy. People who visit Bang Po Beach come for peace and tranquility, just as we did. Despite being located in a quiet area, Lotus Samui is just a short distance from one of the busiest destinations on the island.

A warm welcome at your private villa

When we settled into the comfy sofa of Villa Chi’s living room to sign some papers, we were surprised when the villa manager asked about our dinner plans and spa treatment. It turned out the lovely owners wanted to surprise us with a special dinner and spa, as a wedding gift since we were getting married on the same island after our stay. What a thoughtful treat!

The living room

Upon arriving at the parking lot of Villa Chi, the vacation vibes kick in immediately. We stroll through the gates and open the wooden doors to a cozy outdoor area with benches and a beautiful view. Next to our luxurious master bedroom, we discover a staircase leading down to a gym and spa.

Spacious Kitchen

In the enormous kitchen, the aroma of delicious dishes welcomes us. A surprise from Campari Thailand awaits: six bottles of CinZano Prosecco and Aperol as a wedding gift! The kitchen is a dream, equipped with modern appliances like a wine cooler and a Siemens steam oven. The large glass dining table with comfortable chairs invites sharing unforgettable moments, all under a stunning chandelier.

Delicious food thanks to the amazing private chef. What makes Villa Chi truly special is the fantastic staff, with the crown jewel being the ever-congenial and talented Chef Nan. Every morning, the chef prepared a tasty and sumptuous breakfast for us, and that genial smile we received while doing so completed the experience!

“What does this excellent chef prepare?” we hear you wondering. There is a large folder in the kitchen showcasing dozens of Thai and Western dishes. From starters to desserts, from flavorful curries to fresh fish dishes, (almost) everything is possible. Even a delightful barbecue on the terrace is an option.

The Ocean Pavilion

From the kitchen, we step over a small pond into the Ocean Pavilion. Here, indoor and outdoor blend seamlessly thanks to the folding doors. The living room features a large corner sofa, a Bose audio system, and a 65-inch LG flat screen for cozy evenings. Decorative pieces, including a reclining Buddha, add character to the space.

The garden & pools

The villa features a 20-meter saltwater pool, 1.5 meters deep and 5 meters wide, starting from the master bedroom’s bathroom and extending to the garden’s outdoor room. There’s also a separate Jacuzzi in the outdoor room. Additionally, a small paddling pool for children, measuring 2.5 x 2.5 meters, overlooks the beach and the island of Koh Phangan.

The garden of Villa Chi is a well-maintained green oasis that seamlessly connects to the adjacent terrace with a sea view. As if one pool weren’t enough, there is also a small pool located in the garden. For more sports and games, a ping-pong table is available, and guests can make use of the kayaks found in the garden. After an active day in the garden, on the beach, or in the sea, you’ll want to refresh yourself. On the side of the garden, an outdoor shower. To complete the Chi grounds, the garden flows into a large terrace.

At the terrace, right at the end of the Villa Chi grounds, there are six sun loungers with accompanying tables and umbrellas. From the terrace, you can overlook Bang Po Beach, and by taking a few steps down, you can feel the soft sand beneath your feet. Just a few meters further, you can step into the warm seawater of Samui, with a view of Koh Phangan. As a bonus, you also get a sunset at the end of the day

Private spa & gym

Villa Chi has a small yet well-equipped gym, featuring several cardio machines such as a bike and a cross trainer. For building muscle mass, there is a variety of weights available, along with a fitness strength station. Yoga mats and gym balls are also provided for those seeking a more relaxed workout.

Next to the gym is the spa and massage room. Villa Chi guests can book massages and beauty treatments in this peaceful, cool space with two massage tables and shower facilities. Relaxing music can be played, and massages can also be booked on the outdoor terrace with the soothing sound of the sea. Villa Chi employs certified therapists, each with their own specialty, offering massages, scrubs, manicures, pedicures, foot reflexology, and more. Spa treatments are available in an online directory.

The five bedrooms at Villa Chi

The five bedrooms at Villa Chi offer beautiful accommodations for up to ten happy guests, with the option to expand this number to thirteen if necessary. We were fortunate enough to enjoy the entire villa, allowing us to stay in the magnificent master bedroom.

All bedrooms at Villa Chi are clean and spacious, featuring soft king-size beds perfect for dreaming. The rooms are designed with a timeless Thai aesthetic that exudes tranquility and cleanliness. Each room is adorned with unique, fine decorations, and all come with well-maintained ensuite bathrooms, each equipped with a rain shower.

The tiled floor feels wonderfully cool, aided by the whisper-quiet air conditioning available in every room. Whether you stay in Villa Chi’s bedrooms for a few days or weeks, there is ample wardrobe space at your disposal. Valuables, such as passports, can be securely stored in the safe. Additionally, the bedrooms feature private patios or terraces.

The master bedroom

The master bedroom of Villa Chi is accessed through a lockable sliding door system. Once inside, it’s pleasantly cool due to the air conditioning and a large ceiling fan above the bed. Behind the bed, there is closet space on both sides, creating a convenient walk-through closet. In the center of the room is a wonderfully soft king-size box-spring bed. The master bedroom is decorated with various works of art, beautiful showpieces, and silk decorations by Jim Thompson.

The beautiful bathroom adjacent to our master bedroom is one we would love to have at home! It features a spacious layout with a free-standing bathtub that partially overlooks the pool. On the other side of the tub is a large rain shower, and opposite the entrance is an expansive granite sink with dual basins.

We particularly appreciated the plants placed behind the sink area. Large plants as bathroom decoration were not new to us; we had seen this before in our bathroom at Sevenseas Resort on Koh.

Although we got married in another Elite Havens villa on Koh Samui, Villa Chi is an ideal location for a wedding or large event. Events for up to 40 guests can be organized, and the Villa Chi team can assist you excellently with this.
