Of the three major beaches in Koh Lipe, Sunset Beach is 200 meters long and the quietest. However, it can get crowded around sunset, as many people want to enjoy the view. The beach does not have that white powdery sand, and you will often find a lot of debris scattered around, caused by certain currents and, of course, by human activity.

Sunset Beach: The ideal spot for relaxation on Koh Lipe

Sunset Beach has the advantage of being pretty quiet during the day. Plus, there’s usually a nice breeze on the west side of Koh Lipe, and several trees line the beach, providing some shade. While it might not be the most stunning beach on Koh Lipe, it’s a great spot for a relaxing day. You can enjoy reading a good book, swimming, and sunbathing, and then grab a snack with a refreshing fruit shake at one of the few restaurants along the beach.

A guide to Koh Lipe’s Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach is a 15-minute walk from Walking Street. Alternatively, you can take a “taxi” ride for 50 baht per person. These are actually scooters with sidecars, but they work perfectly on Koh Lipe! After sunset, you’ll find several “taxis” along the road near the beach, ready to take you to Walking Street or your accommodation.
