Accommodations
During peak season, hotel prices in Koh Lipe rise significantly, and bookings fill up quickly. It’s best to reserve in advance, as you can cancel up to a few days before arrival for flexibility. Getting to Koh Lipe
- Flight to Hat Yai: You have the option to fly from Bangkok (1.5 hours) or Chiang Mai (2 hours). It’s recommended to spend the night in Hat Yai, for example at the P-Residence hotel.
- From Hat Yai to Pak Bara: Take a songthaew to the bus station (30 baht). You can book a combined minibus trip to Pak Bara through 12Go, which takes about 2 hours.
- Speedboat to Koh Lipe: You can buy your boat ticket at the pier in Pak Bara. Be prepared for a bumpy ride, so consider taking motion sickness pills (available at 7-Eleven). And just like that, you’ll be in Koh Lipe!

The cost for a ride ranges from 50 to 100 baht, depending on the distance. Want to go somewhere and get picked up later? No problem! Just ask, and they’ll arrange it for you. It’s a fun and easy way to discover the island!
