Getting to Koh Lipe

  1. Flight to Hat Yai: You have the option to fly from Bangkok (1.5 hours) or Chiang Mai (2 hours). It’s recommended to spend the night in Hat Yai, for example at the P-Residence hotel.
  2. From Hat Yai to Pak Bara: Take a songthaew to the bus station (30 baht). You can book a combined minibus trip to Pak Bara through 12Go, which takes about 2 hours.
  3. Speedboat to Koh Lipe: You can buy your boat ticket at the pier in Pak Bara. Be prepared for a bumpy ride, so consider taking motion sickness pills (available at 7-Eleven). And just like that, you’ll be in Koh Lipe!

On Koh Lipe, transportation by motorbike with a sidecar is a popular way to explore the island. These scooter taxis are perfect for visiting the various beaches. They can also pick you up or drop you off at the pier, including your luggage.

The cost for a ride ranges from 50 to 100 baht, depending on the distance. Want to go somewhere and get picked up later? No problem! Just ask, and they’ll arrange it for you. It’s a fun and easy way to discover the island!
