Tien Beach: 500 meters long beach on the west side of Koh Larn

Tien Beach is a quiet stretch of coastline less than 500 meters long on the west side of Koh Larn, near Pattaya. The beach is known for its white sand and clear water, making it one of the calmer beaches on the island. You reach Tien Beach via a concrete walking path with beautiful views over the bay. The water is shallow close to shore, which makes the beach very suitable and safe for children.

What we especially like about Tien Beach is the large number of ta tien trees on the sand. These provide plenty of natural shade. On most other beaches at Koh larn, shade usually means renting a sunbed with an umbrella, but here that isn’t strictly necessary. For those who want extra comfort, sunbeds with umbrellas are available for about 100 baht per day.

Tien Beach can also be reached via a small path at the western edge of Samae Beach. The beach has a curious detail and is somewhat known as a small “goose village.” A few geese are kept nearby, and their footprints in the sand show that they sometimes roam freely, although we never actually saw them on the beach ourselves. The beach was clean and well maintained.

There are restaurants and small shops, massages are offered right on the beach, and activities such as jet skiing and banana boat rides are also available.
