Where on Koh Lanta is Long Beach located?

Long Beach is situated on the west coast of Koh Lanta, just south of Klong Dao Beach and approximately five kilometers from Saladan and its pier. This convenient location runs parallel to the main road that stretches from the northern tip of the island to the southern end at Mu Koh Lanta National Park.

Getting to Long Beach is easy! You can take a taxi or songthaew from Saladan Village, which takes about fifteen minutes and costs around 100 baht. If you prefer more freedom, renting a scooter is also a great option, with the ride taking about the same amount of time.

Long Beach (Phra Ae Beach) is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing holiday in Thailand. The beach features soft, golden-brown sand, bordered by a variety of trees that provide ample shade. You’ll find several resorts, bars, and restaurants where you can grab a well-deserved cold drink. Despite the presence of these establishments, there aren’t many sunbeds, giving the beach a natural and spacious feel.

Can I snorkel and swim at Long Beach?

The sea of Long Beach is really ideal swimming! It gets deep pretty fast so you won’t be bothered by rocks laying on the bottom. The water is clean and gives the desired cooling during a day on the beach. In the south there are more rocks in the water which are seen more and more at low tide. Snorkeling in the waters of Long Beach is not recommended, at least you can snorkel but you will encounter few beautiful fish.
