Most beaches on Koh Lanta are located on the west coast of the island. These beaches are beautiful and stretch for miles, making them perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun. Some beaches offer good snorkeling opportunities, allowing you to explore the underwater world. The tranquil atmosphere makes Koh Lanta ideal for visitors looking to unwind. Long Beach (Haad Phra Ae) is a long stretch of sand, ideal for sunsets and lively beach bars. Klong Dao Beach is wide and generally calm, making it good for swimming. Klong Khong Beach has a relaxed atmosphere with casual beach bars. Klong Nin Beach offers a laid‑back vibe and is usually less crowded. Kantiang Bay is a scenic tropical bay with quality restaurants and upscale resorts.

Scooter riding and Rental
Koh Lanta is a lovely island to explore by scooter or car. This way, you can avoid high taxi prices and visit charming spots at your own pace. We had a great experience with Lanta Sky. You can rent a scooter or car from them, and they will deliver and pick it up at your convenience. Renting a scooter without leaving your passport is often possible if you pay a deposit of a few thousand baht. You usually pay 250 baht for 24 hours. Are you planning to visit Mu Koh Lanta National Park? Be sure to ask for a powerful scooter, especially if you’re going with two people. The roads leading to the National Park are quite steep, so a little extra power is necessary.
Good to Know
On Koh Lanta, regular checks are carried out for helmet use and possession of a valid driving licence. If you fail to comply, you can expect a fine of 500 baht per offence.
Taxi Prices in Koh Lanta: What You Pay
For a one-way ride to the nearest beaches, or from the southern end of Long Beach to Relax Bay, expect to pay around 100–150 baht. If you’re heading a bit further, such as to the northern part of Long Beach or the southern areas of Klong Dao and Klong Kong, prices are typically between 150–250 baht. Trips to Saladan, Klong Nin, or Old Town usually range from 300–400 baht, while rides to the more remote beaches in the deep south cost approximately 500–700 baht.
The exact fare depends on your location and the number of passengers, but this gives you a clear idea of what to expect during your stay.
Car rental Koh lanta
Prefer a car during your stay? On Koh Lanta, it’s easy to rent an automatic car, allowing you to explore the island comfortably and at your own pace. Rates start at around 1,200 baht per day for a compact car. If you want to rent a car, you’ll need to leave your passport, which is standard practice all over Koh Lanta.
