Restaurant op Rocky Beach

You don’t necessarily come to Rocky Beach for the beach itself. The beach is small and consists mainly of rocks, pebbles, and mangroves. As a result, it is less suitable and appealing for swimming. On Koh Jum, you’ll find other beaches that, if you ask us, are more suitable for swimming and sunbathing.

The main reason for us to visit Rocky Beach is the Rock View Terrace Homestay and Café. It has all kinds of lovely seating areas on small and larger white piers on the rocks and above the sea. This gives you a beautiful view of Rocky Beach.

Entrance fee

You pay a 20-baht entrance fee, but this fee is waived when you order something to eat or drink.

We ate surprisingly well on a small pier that we had entirely to ourselves, built on stilts among the rocks. There’s also a cozy little bar where you can meet other travelers.

From the largest pier, you can walk down a small ladder straight into the sea, so you can swim here after all. We saw several people snorkeling among the rocks. This is perfectly possible when the sea is calm. Snorkels and kayaks are available for rent for 100 baht per day.

Bungalows and tents

At Rock View Terrace and Homestay, you can also rent a bungalow or sleep in a tent. The facilities are basic. We looked inside one of the bungalows: basic, clean, with a hard bed, but perfectly fine if you’re not demanding.
