You’ll be welcomed with a lively “Ya man!”, instantly creating a reggae atmosphere. Built entirely from driftwood and rope, the bar is designed like a ship, allowing you to fully embrace your inner pirate. With cozy seating areas, steps, and ropes throughout, it’s a real work of art that’s well worth discovering!

You sink down onto cushions on the floor and gaze out over the azure sea. In the distance, you can even see the Phi Phi Islands. Order an ice-cold drink or a tropical mojito, lean back, and enjoy the relaxed music and vibes. From 4:00 p.m., it’s happy hour: time for an extra drink!

Sunset and reggae

Around sunset, Rock Bar really comes to life. From this unique spot, you can watch the sun slowly sink into the sea, creating spectacular colors.

If you want to be sure of getting a nice spot, come early: the bar fills up quickly. There is also live music from time to time, although unfortunately that wasn’t the case during our visit. Maybe next time? We’ll definitely be coming back!

How to get there: a hidden seaside spot

Nestled among the rocks on Koh Jum’s west coast, Rock Bar Koh Jum lies between Ao Si Beach and Golden Pearl Beach. From the bar, you can enjoy views of the Andaman Sea. You can reach it through the nearby Horizon Beach Resort Koh Jum or by walking along the beach from the far end of Golden Pearl Beach toward Ao Si Beach. The short walk crosses a few rocks but is not difficult.

Like many bars and restaurants on Koh Jum, Rock Bar is usually closed during the rainy season, from May to October. Check in advance if it is open.
