Ting Rai Beach is located on the west coast of Koh Jum and is a beautiful, peaceful beach with clear, gently sloping water. To the north, the beach borders Ao Si Beach, also known as Magic Beach. In the south, a few rocks separate Ting Rai Beach from Golden Pearl Beach.

Simple accommodation, beach bars, and jungle

Along Ting Rai Beach, you’ll find several restaurants belonging to the simple resorts and beachfront bungalows. In the middle of the beach is the creatively decorated wooden Roots Hill Bar—a great place to relax.

After the Roots Hill Bar, is nothing but jungle, and at the very end of the beach you’ll find the simple Hermit Café, with wooden bungalows on stilts. The location is incredibly beautiful and so peaceful that it felt as though we were the only tourists on Koh Jum.

Ting Rai Beach is a wonderful place to swim, enjoy the sunset, or do nothing at all. There isn’t really anything else to do there. We mainly saw a few couples and families on the peaceful beach, which also had more than enough spots to be completely alone if you felt like it.

How do you get to Ting-rai Beach?

From the main road, you reach Ting-rai Beach via a compacted dirt path. In dry weather, it’s easy enough to manage by scooter if you drive carefully, but after heavy rain, the path can be difficult to navigate. Along the main road is the village of Ban Ting-rai, where you’ll find restaurants and local shops. The beach’s location is therefore quite convenient if you like eating somewhere else or being able to pick up a few groceries—you can get there quickly by scooter. On the way to the beach, you’ll pass the small Why Not Bar, which is a nice place to stop for a break.
