A shaded retreat with bungalows by the shore
Klong Prao Beach on Koh Chang is a beautiful spot lined with big trees that provide plenty of nice shady areas. Some visitors even say it’s the best beach on the island. Nestled among the trees, you’ll mostly find large resorts with bungalows right on the shore. The water stays shallow for a long stretch, making it perfect for kids or anyone who enjoys wading. When the tide is high, it’s also great for swimming.

Relaxing at a quiet, beautiful Beach
Most accommodations and restaurants are located at the northern and southern ends of the beach. You’ll likely find everything you need there, but don’t expect a large tourist shopping street. Most visitors to this beach are families with children and couples who just want to relax on a beautiful beach without too much noise or fuss.

Romantic dining and firefly boat tours at Klong Prao Beach’s scenic river mouth
About halfway along Klong Prao Beach, the beach is split by a river mouth. Along this river mouth, you’ll find several restaurants, hotels, and stilt houses. It’s also an ideal spot for a romantic dinner. You can even dine as a couple in a boat with a gondolier. If you’re planning to propose, this is your chance! Check out Baan Ta Klua and Phu-Talay Seafood Restaurant for more inspiration.

Most restaurants along the river offer their guests a free boat ride after sunset to watch the fireflies, making it a truly magical evening! Prefer to take the helm yourself? At Iyara Seafood and others, you can rent kayaks or stand-up paddleboards to explore the river mouth on your own.
