Wat Rakhang Kositaram: Bangkok’s Temple of the Bell & Good Fortune Rituals
Wat Rakhang Kositaram, also known as the Temple of the Bell, is a royal temple in Bangkok. The temple gets its nickname from a large ancient bell that was once discovered on the temple grounds. This bell has since been moved to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew). In exchange, King Rama I gifted the temple complex five new bells, which can still be seen today. At this temple, you can seek good fortune by ringing the bells, feeding the pigeons, or buying a live fish and releasing it into the river.
Visitor information:
A ferry runs from Chang Pier to Wat Rakhang. Admission is free.
