The MBK Center in Bangkok is a colorful maze of small shops and stalls, giving it the feel of an indoor market—but with air conditioning. It might not be super modern, but that’s part of its charm. You can easily spend hours wandering around, sometimes unintentionally, because with over 2,500 shops, it’s easy to get lost!
Why MBK Center Is popular with locals and tourists
MBK is very popular with both young locals and tourists. The prices are friendly to your wallet, but shopping cheaply here mainly means one thing: bargaining! Negotiating is a must, just like in many other places in Thailand. A good tip is to look around first before buying, because the exact same product might be cheaper just a few shops down.

Fake brand products at MBK: How to spot and avoid them
Besides genuine products, MBK also sells fake brand items. How can you tell? If the price seems too good to be true, it usually is. While some sellers might try to pass off fake items as real, most are honest about it. If you see brand products being sold at small stalls, chances are they’re not authentic. In the phone section, we could choose from a genuine iPhone, a pretty decent knockoff, or something that only looked like an iPhone on the outside.. Each option came with its own price tag. If you’re looking for genuine brand-name products, MBK Center is not the place to shop.
At MBK Center, you’ll find a variety of counterfeit brand products, especially from well-known international names. Fake items from brands like Nike, Adidas, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, and Rolex are quite common. Fake Apple accessories, such as chargers and earphones, are also popular. These counterfeit goods range from clothing and bags to watches and electronics. Keep in mind that the quality often varies significantly from the original products.
From electronics to movies—what can you find on each floor?
The MBK Center has seven floors, each with its own focus:
- Floors 1-3: Clothing, accessories, cosmetics, and beauty treatments like manicures and facials.
- Floor 4: Electronics and gadgets. This is also where you’ll find Mobile Mania, offering phones from vintage models to the latest releases, plus the option to trade in your old phone.
- Floor 5: Cameras, accessories, and an outlet store featuring local and international brands. You’ll also find the Fifth Food Avenue here for a bite to eat and a break.
- Floor 6: A mix of clothing, local art (Graft Village), and dining at Food Island.
- Floor 7: Food and entertainment, including a cinema, bowling alley, the Hero City arcade hall, and fast food options.
Tokyu Department Store at MBK Center
There is also the Japanese Tokyu Department Store connected to MBK Center. In this four-story shopping mall, you’ll find clothing, shoes, cosmetics, and accessories. Unlike at MBK, you can generally expect the brands offered here to be genuine. On the 4th floor, there are food stalls serving Thai and Japanese cuisine. The store also has a supermarket known for its large selection of dried fruit. Additionally, on the ground floor of MBK Center, there is a TOPS supermarket.
