Opened in November 2018, this impressive shopping mall is the biggest in the city and offers much more than just shopping. ICONSIAM stands out, both during the day and at night. It’s no surprise it won the worldwide Best Store Design Award in 2019. Outside it’s a beautiful place to look at and a great spot to stroll around, but we all know that it’s the inside that counts in the end… Believe us, once you’re inside you won’t have enough eyes. This is partly thanks to the in London based Benoy who has been responsible for a large part of the interior design. Even if you’re not into shopping, ICONSIAM is too stunning not to visit.

ICONSIAM’s spectacular water show

If you’re visiting ICONSIAM, you definitely don’t want to miss the water shows in River Park! It’s an amazing show with water, lights, lasers, and music that come together to create a stunning 15-minute spectacle. In fact, it features the longest falling fountain in all of Southeast Asia!

The shows take place several times a day, usually around dusk and in the evening. The times are 16:30, 18:30, 20:00 and 21:30. Make sure to arrive early to grab a good spot, as it’s a popular attraction.

A great place to watch the show is from the terrace of D’ARK, where you can relax with a drink and some snacks while enjoying the beautiful light and water display.

The water shows were created by a Spanish company called Ghesa, who also designed the impressive waterfall on the sixth floor in the Alangkarn Zone. Both are truly impressive and add something special to your visit to ICONSIAM!

The Architecture of ICONSIAM: Modern with a Thai Touch

ICONSIAM isn’t just a shopping mall — it’s also a really impressive building to look at. Designed by Urban Architect Co., Ltd, it immediately catches your eye when you’re cruising along the Chao Phraya River. The building is mostly glass and stretches about 300 meters long. Its shapes are sharp and modern, but there’s also a nice nod to Thai culture.

At the top, you’ll notice a shape that looks like a krathong — those floating baskets made from banana leaves that are released on the water during the Loy Krathong festival. It’s pretty cool how they worked that into the design!

Down below, where you enter ICONLUXE, the glass has these flowing folds. This is meant to represent a traditional Thai silk wrap called a Sa-bai. It gives the building an elegant and soft feel, even though it’s made from modern materials.

Inside, it’s just as stunning. The interior was designed by a London-based team and is packed with beautiful details like chandeliers and real gold leaf on the ceiling. You instantly feel the luxury, even if you’re just walking around without buying anything.

In short: ICONSIAM is a mix of sleek, modern design with a warm Thai vibe. Definitely worth taking a closer look when you visit!

SOOKSIAM is a large indoor market where you can taste the most delicious Thai snacks and dishes from all 77 provinces of Thailand. It’s like taking a mini trip through the whole country, all within one building. From spicy papaya salad to fresh noodles and sweet mango sticky rice – you’ll find it all here.

What makes SOOKSIAM extra special is that it’s designed like a traditional floating market, complete with colorful stalls and a fun, vibrant vibe. You can often try samples for free, so walking around, tasting different bites, and discovering your favorites is exactly what this place is made for.

Apple Store in ICONSIAM

On the second floor of ICONSIAM, you’ll find Thailand’s very first official Apple Store — a spot you definitely don’t want to miss. It’s actually only the second Apple Store in all of Southeast Asia! The store is spacious and features stunning two-story glass walls at both the front and back, making it feel like the outdoors is brought inside. This transparency creates an amazing open vibe and offers great views of the adjacent ICONSIAM Park.

After checking out the Apple Store, you can head straight to the green oasis of ICONSIAM Park, accessible via the rooftop terrace. It’s a perfect place to relax right in the middle of the lively shopping center. This spa offers a serene escape with its minimalist design and calming atmosphere. The 90-minute Dream Package combines foot and hand reflexology with a back and shoulder massage, perfect for relaxation after a busy day. The professional service and the extra treat of tea with mango sticky rice complete the experience. Due to its popularity, reservations are recommended. The spa is easily accessible via the BTS Sky Train, located opposite Charoen Nakhon Station.

Spot and buy the latest cars and motorcycles at ICONSIAM!

Guys are covered too: at ICONSIAM, you’ll find the latest cars and motorcycles, from Rolls Royce to Maserati and BMW. You can even customize your Maserati exactly how you want in the Configuration Room. BMW offers an awesome virtual reality experience to check out their cars. The BTS Gold Line is a useful shuttle line connecting the BTS Silom Line with ICONSIAM, facilitating easy access across the Chao Phraya River without relying on ferries. It has 3 stations and a flat fare of 16 Baht, operated by the BTS company but with separate ticketing from the main BTS network.

How to get to ICONSIAM

Use the BTS Gold Line

The BTS Gold Line is a useful shuttle line connecting the BTS Silom Line with ICONSIAM, facilitating easy access across the Chao Phraya River without relying on ferries

BTS Gold Line Stations

The Gold Line currently has 3 stations along its 1.8 km (1.1 mi) route:

G1 Krung Thon Buri: This station connects directly with the BTS Silom Line at Krung Thon Buri station, allowing easy transfers to the main BTS Skytrain system.
G2 Charoen Nakhon: Also known as the ICONSIAM station, it provides direct access to the ICONSIAM shopping mall and nearby hotels such as the Millennium Hilton Bangkok.
G3 Khlong San: The terminal station of the line, located near Taksin Hospital in the Khlong San district.

The BTS Gold Line charges a flat fare of 16 baht per trip regardless of the distance traveled within the line

1. Sathorn Pier (Saphan Taksin Pier)

This is the main boarding point, right next to the BTS Saphan Taksin station. It’s located right on the Chao Phraya River. Shuttle boats regularly depart from here heading to ICONSIAM.
Price: The shuttle boat currently costs between 6 and 8 baht per person (2024). It used to be free, but now there’s a small fee.

2. ICONSIAM Pier

This is the arrival and also boarding place for the shuttle boats returning to Sathorn Pier. Price: A fare of 6 to 8 baht per person also applies for the return trip.

From Krung Thonburi BTS station, a free shuttle bus runs every 15 minutes between 09:00 and 23:00, heading straight to ICONSIAM.
