Vertigo & Moon Bar Bangkok: Top service, stunning views!
Some rooftop bars in Bangkok impress, but few become legends. Vertigo and Moon Bar, on the 61st floor of Banyan Tree Bangkok, are among the rare ones. During our stay at this luxury hotel, we enjoyed top service, stunning views, and one of the best sky-high nights of our trip. Whether for sunset drinks or a four-course dinner under the stars, this rooftop duo delivers on every level.

The rooftop has two distinct areas: Vertigo, a fancy open-air restaurant, and Moon Bar, a stylish cocktail bar with wide views. Together, they form one of the city’s most impressive rooftop spaces—like a futuristic ship floating above Bangkok. The narrow layout and wraparound terrace make you feel like you’re standing at the world’s edge. It’s bold, stylish, and unforgettable.

Where in Bangkok is Vertigo and Moon Bar located?
Vertigo and Moon Bar sit atop the Banyan Tree Bangkok, a landmark tower in Sathorn, near Lumpini Park. The hotel is easy to reach by MRT (Lumpini Station) or a short taxi or tuk tuk ride from central Bangkok. BTS Sala Daeng and Chong Nonsi stations are about a 15-minute walk, but traffic can be heavy during rush hours, so public transport is often quicker.

Architecture & Design
Vertigo and Moon Bar use their spot well with a simple, sleek design that highlights the view, not flashy decor. Clean lines, clear walkways, and dramatic lighting create a space that feels both luxurious and relaxed. The rooftop’s ship-like shape adds a sense of motion and adventure, like you’re sailing through the Bangkok sky.

Ambiance & Atmosphere
Though popular, Vertigo and Moon Bar keep an elegant and exclusive feel. The atmosphere is classy but relaxed. Couples celebrate anniversaries, travelers toast their last night, and locals enjoy their city’s magic. With live DJs on some nights and events like cocktail festivals, there’s always something going on—but it never feels crowded or noisy.

Hospitality
True to Banyan Tree’s reputation, the service is outstanding. From arriving in the grand lobby to your last sip of cocktail under the stars, the staff goes the extra mile. During our visit, we were warmly welcomed by Khun Deepak, the dedicated Beverage Manager.

Vertigo TOO: Indoor option
Vertigo TOO, on the 60th floor of Banyan Tree Bangkok, offers an indoor option to the famous rooftop spots. This stylish space features modern design and floor-to-ceiling windows with great city views in a cozy setting. Vertigo TOO is also known for live jazz shows, featuring local bands like Jazziam. These performances add lively music, making dining and entertainment even better.

Menu, what to eat and drink at Vertigo and Moon Bar?
Food
Dining at Vertigo is a sensory delight. The set menu costs about THB 3,100 without wine or THB 4,500 with wine pairing—a fair price for a world-class meal at one of the highest rooftop restaurants in the world.

Beverage
Moon Bar’s drink menu is varied, creative, and well-made. You’ll find signature cocktails, fine wines, mocktails, and premium spirits. They also offer seasonal and themed drinks, like special Pride Month and anniversary cocktails.
What did we ordered in 2022?
At Moon Bar, we started with two creative cocktails: the Beautiful Ending, a sweet, creamy welcome drink, and the tropical Loud and Proud—a lively nod to Bangkok’s Pride. After dinner, we came back for a Piña Colada Spritz and the house favorite Vertigo Sunset. The highlight was the off-menu Khor Iik Nung, a special cocktail made for Banyan Tree Bangkok’s 25th anniversary, personally offered by Deepak. A unique treat that ended an unforgettable night.

At Vertigo, we enjoyed the four-course set dinner, starting with sea bass amuse-bouche and fresh bread. The crispy duck salad with orange and avocado was a standout starter, followed by rich pumpkin soup and a refreshing sorbet to cleanse the palate. For mains, we had perfectly cooked Australian sirloin steak with red wine sauce and buttery vegetables. For dessert, one chose exotic Piña Colada mousse, the other a rich Peanut Chocolate Mousse—delicious!
