Where in Bangkok is Spire Rooftop Bar located?

Spire Rooftop Bar is located on top of the renewed Dusit Thani Bangkok, on the edge of Lumpini Park in the Silom district. The iconic hotel is a very well-known name in Bangkok and was completely redeveloped a few years ago.

You can easily reach it using Bangkok’s public transportation. You can take the sky train (final stop Sala Daeng) or the metro (final stop Lumpini Park). From both stations it is a short walk of about ten minutes to this fantastic rooftop bar. Of course you can also take a taxi, Bolt or Grab.

Once inside Dusit Thani Bangkok you take the elevator up to the 39th floor and arrive at a rooftop with direct views over the skyline and the greenery of Lumpini Park. The contrast between park and city makes this place special.

Architecture and (interior) design

Spire is spacious and feels modern without becoming stiff. The design combines light materials, soft colors and lots of open space. Comfortable sofas and chairs are placed everywhere, giving the whole setting a relaxed feel.

The terrace is wide and easy to navigate. At the edge you have views over the skyline, while higher up there is an additional platform where you get an almost 360-degree view. No service is provided there, but it is a great place to walk around or take photos.

What stands out most is the sense of space. Many rooftops in Bangkok are compact, but Spire feels open and airy. Something we also really liked is that you can sit on two different sides. Nice to combine: first on the side near the open kitchen and later on the other side where the bar is located.

Dusit Thani stands for great hospitality

The service is friendly and professional. The staff is attentive without being intrusive and regularly checks if everything is to your liking. Compliments to the bar manager, who clearly has everything very well organized here.

Another nice detail: the staff clearly knows the menu and can explain cocktails when needed. Orders arrive at a good pace and glasses are replaced neatly. Small details also stand out, such as the stylish glasses used for water — a simple detail that adds to the refined atmosphere.

Atmosphere and crowd

Around six o’clock Spire is mainly a sunset spot. The atmosphere is relaxed and the crowd consists of a mix of hotel guests, couples and a few locals who clearly know where they are.

Later in the evening the DJ will most likely bring more tempo, but during our visit it remains calm and relaxed.

The dress code is casual chic: neat clothing, but without excessive formality.

The menu at Spire Rooftop Bar

At Spire Rooftop Bar the focus is first and foremost on creative signature cocktails, but it also offers a wide selection of other drinks. The cocktail menu is clearly the centerpiece, featuring tropical and aromatic creations such as Super-Nature, a refreshing tequila cocktail with Thai pomelo and a light sparkle, Antimatter, where whisky is combined with yuzu, lychee and subtle Thai spices, and Star Dust, a gin cocktail with grapefruit, lemon and house-made rhubarb compote.

Another standout is Proton Candy, a playful mix of vodka, coconut water, banana milk and cardamom, finished with a touch of red wine for extra aroma. In addition to these signature drinks, the menu also includes approachable classics like a Raspberry Mule, Lychee Martini and Eastern Sour, ensuring there is something for every cocktail lover.

But Spire is certainly not only a cocktail bar. Guests who prefer something else can choose from a broad selection of spirits such as gin, rum, tequila, cognac and several whiskies, including single malts and Japanese whiskies. There is also a beautiful wine list with champagne, prosecco and wines by the glass or bottle, ranging from fresh sauvignon blancs to rich red Burgundies.

Beer lovers are also well taken care of with options such as Singha, Asahi and Corona, while non-alcoholic options include iced teas, lemonades and soft drinks. The result is a drinks menu that appeals to both cocktail specialists and casual rooftop visitors — perfect for a sunset drink, a glass of champagne with the view, or simply a good gin and tonic above the Bangkok skyline.

Of course you can also enjoy snacks or even a full dinner at Spire Rooftop Bar. The food here is clearly designed for sharing and pairs well with the excellent cocktails. The menu mainly consists of luxury bar bites and small dishes with international influences.

Fresh oysters appear on the menu, as well as creative bites like crab croquetas, crispy seafood tortilla, shrimp al pil pil with garlic and chili, and small tartare cones with tuna, shrimp and crab. For those wanting something more substantial there are also grill dishes such as wagyu striploin, octopus or seabass, although the real strength of the menu lies in the smaller dishes that are easy to order alongside a cocktail.

The kitchen shows a clear South American and Peruvian inspiration, developed around the concept of restaurant Nómada and chef Andre Josef Nweh Severino, with ingredients from the sea, fresh citrus and spicy sauces that match the rooftop atmosphere perfectly.

Our experience — early February 2026

We get a nice spot near the bar where we order our first two cocktails of the evening. It is around six o’clock, the sun is still fairly high, and we enjoy the beautiful view that Spire Rooftop Bar offers.

During our first cocktail round we ordered the Lucid Dream with Havana Club rum. On the menu you see apple pie, lemon, mint and sparkling wine, but what stands out most is the cinnamon. The sugar and cinnamon powder on the rim gives the cocktail a light dessert-like character — almost like a fresh apple-pie variation.

My cocktail is the Pang Punch, a tiki-style drink served in a striking glass shaped like an elephant. The presentation is playful and original. The cocktail itself is slightly on the sweet side, but still very enjoyable to drink. I would definitely order this one again next time!

Overall the cocktails are original, well balanced and contain enough alcohol without becoming too heavy. This is clearly a bar where mixology is taken seriously.

And by the way — the nuts served at Spire… WOW. They are soooo good. Honestly they could almost add them as a separate menu item!

Speaking of snacks… After our first cocktail round we start with three small dishes:

Corn Tamale
Creamy South American corn purée with a soft texture and a subtle corn flavor. Comfort food with mild sweetness, though the flavor remains a bit restrained and could use a little more spice or salt.

Crispy Cones
Three crispy cones filled with different tartares: tuna with sesame and ikura, shrimp with yellow chili emulsion and quinoa, and crab with avocado and caviar. Playful, crunchy and perfect as a bar bite; the crab version stands out thanks to the creamy avocado and salty caviar.

Ceviche with Mango
Raw hamachi marinated with lime, mango and spices, finished with yellow chili sauce. Fresh, slightly spicy and nicely balanced; the mango provides subtle sweetness while citrus and chili bring a lively kick.

We decided to continue and share several excellent dishes.

Grilled Chorizo
Argentinian grilled sausage with chimichurri. The sausage has a beautiful smoky grill flavor and light spicy seasoning, while the fresh herb-garlic sauce (chimichurri) provides a lively contrast. Simple but flavorful bar food that pairs well with a cocktail, beer or a good glass of wine.

Garden Salad
Fresh salad with avocado, seasonal vegetables, tomato and radish. The ingredients are clearly fresh and crunchy, but unfortunately the salad misses just a little salt, pepper and olive oil to really bring the flavors to life. As a result the dish feels slightly flat, even though the base is actually very good.

Wagyu Striploin
200 grams of Australian Wagyu MB6, beautifully prepared and juicy in texture. The meat is served with three tasty sauces: seafood sauce, a Japanese sauce and aji rojo, a Peruvian chili sauce with a light spicy kick. The soft roasted garlic served with the meat is especially delicious — sweet and aromatic. One small note: the staff does not ask about the preferred doneness, something you might expect at this level.

Flan de Coco
For dessert we choose Flan de Coco. The texture is classic crème caramel with pieces of coconut and a sauce with clear burnt caramel tones. Super tasty and a nice ending to a wonderful dinner at a beautiful rooftop bar in Bangkok overlooking Lumpini Park and the Bangkok skyline.

To finish our fantastic evening we needed to go for a second round of cocktails to toast the start of our wonderful stay at the iconic Dusit Thani Bangkok.
