UZ Bangkok Tapas Bar, opened in 2023, is a two-story spot atop INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit in the On Nut district. It features a terrace, semi-indoor bar, indoor bar, and pool bar to suit every guest. LUZ brings the bold flavors of Spain with stunning panoramic views.

Architecture & Design

A standout feature of LUZ is the transparent infinity pool on the 34th floor, right above the 33rd-floor bar. This lets guests below look up into the pool, creating a striking view. The outdoor terrace has angled lines and cables inspired by The Giant Swing and Rama VIII Bridge, blending local culture into the design. At night, blue lights reflect off the glass pool, adding to the cool and inviting vibe.

What to eat at LUZ?

The LUZ menu features tempting Spanish tapas, with standout dishes like Ensaladilla Gallega, Gazpacho, Luz Salmon, and classic Churros. Each dish blends traditional Spanish flavors with creative, modern touches.

What to drink at LUZ?

LUZ has an impressive drink menu with signature sangrias, creative cocktails, and a variety of Spanish wines and craft beers. Cocktails like the Saúco and The Basil are made to pair well with the food. Happy Hour runs from 17:00 to 19:00 with great deals on select drinks.

What did we order at LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar during our January 2025 visit?

After a warm welcome from the friendly LUZ staff, we were seated in a comfy spot with a perfect city view. Since this was our last rooftop bar in Bangkok before heading to Krabi, Koh Yao Noi, and Koh Yao Yai, we started the evening with two cocktails. We had high hopes for LUZ, especially after enjoying Mai The Sky Bar at Melia Chiang Mai two years ago.

The atmosphere was perfect—beautiful sunset views of Bangkok’s skyline and lively energy made it feel like a celebration. We started with classic tapas: Pan Con Tomate—crispy sourdough with fresh tomato, garlic, olive oil, and sea salt; Las Croquetas Ibérico—tasty Iberian ham croquettes; and Gambas al Ajillo—sautéed prawns with chili, garlic, and olive oil. Each dish was a taste of Spain, bringing back travel memories.

For the main course, we had La Paella de Marisco—a rich seafood paella with prawns, clams, mussels, and squid, served hot and full of flavor. We also tried the Chef’s Tapas Selection, featuring Tuna Taki Taki Rumba—a fresh Akani tuna dish with citrus dressing. The fresh ingredients and bold flavors were excellent.

Tip!

No Spanish tapas experience is complete without a good glass of sangria. Whether you’re dining or just having drinks at LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar, be sure to try the sangria—it’s fantastic!

We had to try dessert, so we ordered LUZ Churros—homemade churros with spiced chocolate sauce. The sauce had a slight burnt aftertaste, but the churros were crispy, fluffy, and tasty. To finish the night, we enjoyed two more cocktails before returning to our cozy apartment in the W District. Looking back, we agreed LUZ gave us a memorable final rooftop experience before our next adventure.
