Shake Shack in Bangkok: American burger culture meets Thai innovation
Since opening in March 2023, Shake Shack has quickly stood out in Bangkok’s food scene. Known for its premium burgers, creative local partnerships, and Thai-inspired menu items, the American brand has won over both locals and visitors. Let’s look at Shake Shack’s journey in Bangkok, its changing menu, and its cultural impact.

From New York to Bangkok: The Shake Shack story
Shake Shack started in 2001 as a small hot dog cart in New York’s Madison Square Park, founded by Danny Meyer. Its mix of fine-dining quality and fast-casual style quickly made it popular worldwide.
In 2022, Shake Shack announced plans to come to Thailand, exciting burger fans. The first Bangkok store opened at CentralWorld on March 30, 2023, featuring a colorful mural by Thai-Indian artist Navin Rawanchaikul. This was special because Rawanchaikul had worked with Danny Meyer before on a New York art project, bringing the story full circle.
Shake Shack has big plans in Thailand: they aim to open 15 locations across the country by 2032.

Customer favorites
Reviews on TripAdvisor and Wongnai praise the Shroom Burger as a surprise favorite, even for non-vegetarians. The milkshakes are loved for their creamy texture, though some say they’re a bit sweet. One reviewer said, “The ShackBurger shines with its Angus beef patty, but the Shroom Burger is my favorite.”

Our favorite too!
From the first bite of a Shake Shack burger, we knew it was great! After visiting the EmSphere location, this burger chain became our favorite. Over the past year, we’ve visited them all, whether for a quick bite or a full meal. We’ll be back, dear Shake Shack!
