Mahanakhon CUBE – A foodie paradise next to the famous Mahanakhon building

Next to Bangkok’s famous King Power Mahanakhon Tower, the Mahanakhon CUBE is a must-visit for food lovers! It offers everything from Thai street food to chic European restaurants, tasty desserts, and top-quality wines. This lively spot combines great flavors, culture, and creativity. Whether it’s your first time in Bangkok or you’re a regular visitor, Mahanakhon CUBE guarantees a tasty adventure with amazing food, stylish settings, and close access to one of Southeast Asia’s coolest skyscrapers.

Where in Bangkok is Mahanakhon CUBE located?

The Mahanakhon CUBE is in Bangkok’s lively Sathorn district, close to Silom Road and Lumpini Park. It sits next to the King Power Mahanakhon Tower, known for its SkyWalk and rooftop bar, Sky Beach. Getting there is easy: take the BTS Skytrain to Chong Nonsi Station (Exit 3), and the CUBE is right across the street.

Architecture & Design

The CUBE may look small next to its tall neighbor, but inside it’s modern and stylish. The ground and second floors have open dining areas where visitors can try dishes from different vendors. Some spots offer cozy seating, open kitchens, and displays of artisan products and wines. The vibe mixes casual comfort with a touch of elegance.

Ambiance & Atmosphere

The Mahanakhon CUBE has a lively but relaxed feel. The first floor, Mahanakhon Eatery, offers a trendy vibe where friends, couples, and families meet. The second floor, Thai Taste Hub, is more casual, with the smells and sounds of a busy Thai market in a modern, clean space. It’s busy but never too crowded, and visitors enjoy the easy, food-focused atmosphere.

Hospitality

Service at the Mahanakhon CUBE is fast, friendly, and professional. Visitors often praise how clean the dining and common areas are. Whether you’re trying a Michelin-listed Thai food stall or sipping wine at Maison du Vin, the staff’s care and warm welcome stand out.

Next door neighbour, King Power Mahanakhon, the most famous landmark in Bangkok!

The King Power Mahanakhon, known as Bangkok’s “pixel tower” for its unique design, is one of the city’s most famous skyscrapers. It stands 314 meters tall and features attractions like the SkyWalk, a glass platform high above the city, and Sky Beach, Bangkok’s highest rooftop bar. Inside are the upscale Ojo Bangkok restaurant and The Standard hotel. We even took part of our wedding photos here, with stunning views all around. Whether you’re dining, staying, or just visiting, Mahanakhon offers an unforgettable sky-high experience!

Back to the CUBE, there are so many choices!

The CUBE offers a great mix of foods. At Thai Taste Hub, you can enjoy traditional Thai street food like boat noodles, pad thai, and spicy Isaan dishes. At Mahanakhon Eatery, find Japanese, French, seafood, and fusion dishes to satisfy any craving.

A well-known name at the CUBE is Greyhound Café, a popular Asian restaurant chain with spots in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, and Beijing. Famous for mixing Thai and international flavors, Greyhound Café adds a trendy, relaxed vibe to Mahanakhon CUBE, perfect for a stylish lunch or dinner in Bangkok.

Food

Mahanakhon CUBE offers endless choices! At Mahanakhon Eatery, try pizza at Babyccino, fresh salads at GetFresh, or Japanese sashimi and sushi at Hoshi. On the second floor, Thai Taste Hub serves favorites like crispy pork kuay chap, spicy som tam, pad krapow, Hainanese chicken rice, and artisan pad thai. Craving sweets? Don’t miss the mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream at Kamnueng Kamtarn or ice cream treats at King Power Selection Cafe on the ground floor.

Drinks

Wine lovers will enjoy The Cellar at Mahanakhon, offering a wide range of premium wines from around the world. Other drinks like beer, soda, and more are available at the bar.

Our two visits at Mahanakhon CUBE

Since our first visit in January 2023, many changes have come. Some shops we liked have been replaced by new eateries. Luckily, many original restaurants still thrive elsewhere in Bangkok and Thailand. So, we’re keeping our 2023 review below for you. On our next Bangkok trip, we look forward to trying new spots on the CUBE’s ground floor, Mahanakhon Eatery. On our list: Babyccino for Asian brunch, Hoshi for Japanese food, Tasty Daily bakery, and wine at The Cellar.

January 2023, our first visit

After a long trip from Koh Kood to Bangkok, we arrived at Mahanakhon CUBE hungry and excited. We sat at Isabella Italian Rotisserie and ordered the popular Mahanakhon Eatery Promotion Set. Picking from many tempting dishes was tough, but we chose a great mix—calamari from el’mar, grilled chicken at Isabella by Andreas, flavorful prawns, and tempting desserts from ICI. Every dish was delicious and well-presented, making this one of our best food experiences in Bangkok.

Isabella by Andreas at Mahanakhon CUBE is gone, but you can still enjoy Andreas’ great food elsewhere. We loved the pizza at ICONSIAM and a tasty Italian dinner at Trattoria by Andreas in Hua Hin—both are top picks for Italian food fans!

To finish, we visited Maison du Vin for a great bottle of wine and had artisan coffee at Other Cafe. Even though we were full, we had to try the colorful sweets at ICI. The tasty food and lively, cozy atmosphere made our visit to Mahanakhon CUBE unforgettable. We’ll definitely return—to try more dishes and explore the Thai Taste Hub upstairs next time!

December 2024, our second visit

Almost two years after our first visit, Mahanakhon Eatery was closed for renovation. That was fine—we focused on the Thai Taste Hub on the second floor. Before eating, we treated ourselves at Let’s Relax Spa, our favorite wellness spot in Thailand. After a relaxing Dr. Spiller Facial Soothing Massage, we felt refreshed and ready to enjoy some amazing Thai food.

Combine your visit to Mahanakhon CUBE with a great massage at Let’s Relax Spa on the fourth floor. Open daily from 10:00 to 22:00.

One must-visit spot was Tee Yen Ta Fo, a popular Bangkok eatery known for its pink noodle soup. We tried two versions: dry and in a rich, tasty soup. Both were amazing—the crispy pork, smooth wontons, flavorful broth, and perfect noodles were delicious!

At first, we planned to share a dish here and one from Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu, run by Andy Yang, a well-known Thai chef we know. But since he wanted to cook for us another time, we saved that for the future. To finish our meal, we enjoyed a thin Japanese-style chocolate crepe from Harajuku Cafe Crepes.

Afterward, we celebrated the day—and our three extra months in Thailand after a border run to Cambodia—with a cocktail at Sky Beach next door. Thailand, we LOVE you!
