During our month living in the Phra Nakhon area of Bangkok, we visited Azzurro Trattoria Italiana W District many times. It wasn’t just the delicious Italian dishes that drew us back—it was the super-friendly Italian owner, Domenico, whose genuine warmth and passion made every visit feel like dining with family.

Azzurro Trattoria Italiana at W District is a must-visit for lovers of genuine Italian cuisine in Bangkok—with a menu rich in Italian traditions, welcoming hospitality, and a charming, relaxed vibe perfect for any occasion.

Location & Atmosphere

Situated in the vibrant W District on Sukhumvit Road (Phra Khanong Nuea, Watthana), Azzurro offers a laid-back setting—cool dark tones inside, a breezy terrace outside—a welcome respite from the Bangkok heat. You will find this gem just withing a five minute walk from BTS.

Tip

Do like we did, go for a bite and some wine at Azzurro and afterwards move up to Cielo Sky Bar for some great cocktails high above the ground and with amazing views.

Owner, staff and service

Domenico, the Italian owner originally from Puglia, embodies the heart of the place. Reviews consistently mention his warmth, personal greetings, and hands-on presence with guests—serving not just food, but heartfelt hospitality. We have witnessed this by ourselves many times and will back for sure when we are in Bangkok again.

Cuisine & Menu Highlights

The menu at Azzurro Trattoria Italiana W District is a true celebration of traditional Italian cuisine — handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas, and Italian antipasti. Expect dishes like orecchiette with turnip greens, focaccia Barese, burrata with Parma ham, and classic tiramisu—all sourced from Italy when possible. Don’t foget to drinks some of the delicious imported wine from Italy!
