While Khao San Road is mainly known for partying, Rambuttri is the place to relax and chat. Two very different worlds! Rambuttri Road: Shopping and Relaxing Massages

Rambuttri Road actually consists of two parts: Rambuttri Alley and Soi Rambuttri. Rambuttri Alley runs almost parallel to Khao San Road, while you reach Soi Rambuttri by crossing the busy street. Soi Rambuttri is usually a bit quieter than Rambuttri Alley.

Soi Rambuttri also has plenty of nice restaurants, shops, hostels, and hotels. Besides the usual tourist essentials, you’ll often find handmade products for sale here, which can be a nice change! Every couple of minutes, you have the chance to get a (foot) massage, so the walk never gets too tiring.

If you stroll down Soi Rambuttri for a few blocks, you’ll eventually hit the Chao Phraya River and the Phra Arthit pier. From there, you can hop on the Chao Phraya River Express and head to stunning spots like Wat Arun Temple or the popular shopping mall, ICONSIAM.

Where to eat and drink

You can find food everywhere on Rambuttri, with the usual street stalls, and it’s easy to take a short trip over to Khao San for a bite as well. To be honest, though, it’s pretty much the same everywhere: Pad Thai, roti pancakes, coconut ice cream, fried insects, and fruit shakes. Nothing wrong with that, especially since it’s all quite cheap. But chances are, the food here isn’t the best you’ll taste during your trip through Thailand. At least, we hope not! Is there music on Rambuttri?

Yes, but much less than elsewhere! The music comes from restaurants or live acts. Unlike Khao San Road, street parties are rare here. Rambuttri is mainly about good food, drinks, shopping, and strolling. Having a drink and watching the world go by is popular. When tired, you can grab a snack or enjoy a (foot) massage at one of the many salons. Rambuttri has plenty of greenery and trees, and you might even see squirrels. You might start to feel that Rambuttri is a bit dull, but that’s definitely not the case! There are plenty of other travelers like you who enjoy a lively atmosphere—just without the chaos of Khao San Road. There are great spots to grab a drink!

Getting around Rambuttri Road

Tuk-tuk: Tuk-tuks are popular for short trips around Rambuttri Road and nearby neighborhoods. Always negotiate the fare before hopping in. Tuk tuks are waiting at the end of the street. learn here howe to use them.

Walking: Rambuttri Road is compact and pedestrian-friendly. Exploring on foot is the best way to enjoy the street’s vibrant atmosphere, cafes, and shops.

Bus: Local buses pass nearby but can be confusing for visitors unfamiliar with the routes. It’s a budget option if you’re comfortable navigating the system.

Getting to Rambuttri Road

Rambuttri Road is located near the bustling Khao San Road, in the heart of Bangkok’s Old Town. The easiest way to get there is by taxi, Grab, or by booking a ticket via 12go, which will take you directly to this lively street. If you prefer public transport, you can take the Chao Phraya River Express boat to Phra Arthit Pier, then walk about 10 to 15 minutes to Rambuttri Road. Alternatively, tuk-tuks are a quick and fun way to reach Rambuttri Road from nearby areas, but don’t forget to agree on the price before starting your ride.
