With comfy beds, great food, and a rooftop pool, this 5-star hotel blends comfort and convenience. We stayed here and can honestly say it’s one of our favorite hotels in Bangkok!

Location & Accessibility: Where in Bangkok is The Westin Grande Sukhumvit located?

The Westin Grande Sukhumvit is perfectly located in Asok. It’s right across from BTS Asok Station and just steps from MRT Sukhumvit, making it easy to get around Bangkok. Terminal 21 is next door and Benjakitti Park, Korea Town, and Soi Cowboy are all nearby It’s also close to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC). Despite the busy streets outside, the hotel is calm and quiet inside.

Service & Hospitality

Check-in was quick, and the service was warm and attentive. Staff were professional and friendly, often sharing their hobbies (their badges showed interests like “music” or “travel and even lego”). From reception to room service, everyone made us feel truly welcome.

Architecture & Design

The Westin’s distinctive building looks like a ship—with waves on one side and a sail on the other. Inside, the style is modern and elegant, with rich textures and subtle Thai touches. The 7th-floor lobby feels calm and refined, thanks to its high ceilings.

Ambiance & Atmosphere

Even though it’s in one of Bangkok’s busiest areas, The Westin feels very relaxed inside. It’s luxurious but not flashy, perfect for both business and leisure travelers. Live music at the Zest Bar makes the evenings even nicer.

The hotel has 362 rooms and 31 suites, all with Westin’s famous Heavenly Bed 2.0. Deluxe Rooms are comfortable and high-quality, while premium suites like the Breezy and Presidential offer more space, luxury, and Club Lounge access.

Our Room in 2024: Deluxe Suite on the 21st floor

Living room

Our Deluxe Suite had a large living room—great for relaxing or working for Thailand Magazine. The comfy seating and work desk made it easy to stay productive, and the fast Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Extras like a mini fridge, coffee/tea maker, and free bottled water made our stay more comfortable.

Bedroom

Nearly seven years after our first visit, we enjoyed Westin’s iconic “Heavenly Bed” again, this time version 2.0! It’s still one of our favorite hotel beds in Thailand.

Soft linens, fluffy pillows, and a featherbed topper made it feel like sleeping on a cloud. USB outlets, bedside lights, and an in-room safe added comfort. Turndown service made coming back to the room feel like home. We also got a small bottle of lavender oil to help us sleep—just what we needed in lively Bangkok.

Bathroom

The spacious bathroom had everything—lots of amenities, separate shower and bathtub, plus soft robes and slippers that felt spa-like. We especially liked the free White Tea beauty products, which made the experience feel luxurious and relaxing. A true five-star setup, just as expected.

Bedroom

The bed truly felt “Heavenly”—like a cloud after a busy day in Bangkok. A modern control panel beside the bed let us adjust lights, air conditioning, and even call room service.

Living area

The 42 m² room had soft carpet, a small desk with LAN/HDMI ports, a sofa, and a Nespresso machine. Watching the skyline while enjoying quality coffee was the perfect way to start the day.

Bathroom

Our bathroom had a tub and a separate rain shower. It was spotless, spacious, and stocked with thoughtful amenities.

Facilities

Pool

The saltwater pool on the 8th floor is 227 m² of pure bliss with skyline views. Around the large pool, you’ll find plenty of sunbeds, loungers, and comfy seats—including two big shaded lounge sofas, perfect for escaping Bangkok’s hot sun. Guess where we settled? Bonus points to The Westin for offering sunscreen and cold towels from the staff. That’s great service. It was the perfect way to relax in the busy city center.

WestinWORKOUT Fitness Center

The WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio is a large 405 m² gym, open 24/7 and fully equipped to keep you fit while traveling. It also offers daily yoga and fitness classes to refresh your body and mind.

Forgot your workout gear? No worries. The WestinWORKOUT Gear Lending program lets you borrow quality equipment like Hyperice for muscle recovery and Bala gear for strength and balance training. We even used some in our suite—and loved it! Westin truly cares about your well-being.

Well-being @ Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok

What we loved about The Westin team was how much they care about guests’ health. For example, we found a card by our bed with “Sleep Well Yoga” tips and a walking/jogging route from the hotel through Benjakitti Park to Lumpini Park, called The Green Mile. The next morning, we set out early to explore it!

Vareena Spa

After our early morning walk along Bangkok’s Green Mile, we enjoyed a relaxing couple’s massage at the 400 m² Vareena Spa inside The Westin Grande Sukhumvit. The spa offers a full wellness experience, including steam baths and saunas we happily used. It was our first massage back in Thailand, and we truly missed the expert care. The therapists were professional and attentive, making our session deeply relaxing. Vareena Spa is a true retreat, reflecting The Westin’s focus on health and well-being.

Event spaces

The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok offers 14 versatile event spaces totaling over 1,725 m², perfect for conferences, weddings, and events for up to 600 guests. Highlights include the elegant Grand Ballroom and Altitude rooftop with stunning city views. All venues feature high-speed Wi-Fi, AV technology, and eco-friendly amenities. The hotel is also recognized with prestigious awards, including Level 2 TSEMS Engage 2024 certified by Thailand Sustainable Event Management Standard – TCEB) and 2025 Cvent Meeting and Events Recognition – Top 20 Asia Pacific.

Seasonal Tastes

Located on the 7th floor, this all-day dining restaurant offers a great buffet with seasonal themes. We enjoyed the egg station, fresh pastries, Thai dishes, and fruit juices at breakfast. The lunch buffet is just as varied.

Kisso Japanese Restaurant

A must-visit for Japanese food lovers. The chef made a surprise menu for us with sashimi, tempura, miso soup, and an unforgettable fish hotpot. The service and freshness were excellent.

Zest Bar & Terrace

Ideal for a nightcap or afternoon high tea. Happy Hour runs from 17:00 to 19:00 daily, and there’s often live music. Don’t miss the salmon bruschetta or a cocktail crafted by their in-house mixologist.

Pool Bar

The Pool Bar serves food and drinks from 10:00 to 20:00. We enjoyed cocktails and light bites between dips.
