The Okura Prestige Bangkok: Excellent service and incredible high-level luxury!

The first time we visited The Okura Prestige Bangkok was in 2018 for dinner and cocktails on the beautiful crescent-shaped terrace of Up & Above Restaurant and Bar. Even then, we knew we’d come back. The design, flavors, and service left a strong impression. In early 2022, as a newly engaged couple, we returned and stayed. Our suite, the views, and the excellent service made The Okura Prestige Bangkok the perfect end to our Thailand trip.

Location & Accessibility: Where in Bangkok is The Okura Prestige located?

The Okura Prestige Bangkok is perfectly located on Wireless Road in the upscale Ploenchit business area. It’s connected by skywalk to BTS Phloen Chit station and Central Embassy mall, giving guests easy access to luxury shopping and major Bangkok attractions. Cultural sites like the Erawan Shrine and Jim Thompson House are just a short train ride away.

Service & Hospitality

Check-in was warm, smooth, and personal. Dutch GM Niek even greeted us and surprised us with an upgrade to the Prestige Suite to celebrate our engagement. Every staff interaction showed professionalism and genuine care. Turndown service was perfect, with small surprises that made us feel pampered and welcome every night.

Architecture & Design

With its gleaming copper tones, high ceilings, and marble finishes, The Okura Prestige Bangkok blends modern minimalism with Japanese elegance. The space is filled with natural light, feeling both spacious and cozy at the same time.

Ambiance & Atmosphere

Though in the city center, the hotel feels like a peaceful oasis. Its height above Bangkok’s noise brings calm, while the careful service and design create a refined, luxurious space that blends true Japanese style with warm Thai spirit.

Room Types at The Okura Prestige Bangkok

The hotel has 240 rooms and suites, including Deluxe Rooms, Club Rooms, and five types of suites like the Prestige and grand Imperial Suites. All rooms have soundproof triple-glazed windows, panoramic Bangkok views, and luxury amenities like Illy coffee machines, HARNN toiletries, and smart controls.

Our Room: The Prestige Suite

Living room

When we entered, we saw a stylish, spacious living room with a comfy sectional sofa, a large desk with full office gear, and a high-end minibar. The Illy coffee machine gave us a great start each morning. A Bluetooth speaker and entertainment system rounded out the space.

Bedroom

The bedroom had a king-size bed decorated with rose petals—a very sweet gesture from the staff. A second TV, plenty of storage, and an in-room console for lights and climate made the room both romantic and practical.

Bathroom

The bathroom stood out. It had a deep granite soaking tub, a separate rainfall shower with skyline views, and high-tech Japanese washlets, making it feel like a spa. HARNN products and thoughtful details like a stool under the vanity showed the hotel’s care for comfort and quality.

Facilities

Infinity Pool

High above the city, the hotel’s 25-meter infinity pool is stunning. Though shaded, the views more than make up for it. It’s the perfect place to relax on a lounger with a good book.

Gym

With floor-to-ceiling windows and top fitness gear, the gym is both beautiful and practical. Trainers are available for advice and custom workouts.

The Okura Spa

Open Wednesday to Sunday, the spa offers a refined menu of treatments and massages. Each starts with a personal consultation to ensure comfort and benefits. Five elegant rooms have private jacuzzis for full relaxation.

The Okura Club Lounge

Guests in Club Rooms and Suites can use the elegant Club Lounge from 14:00 to 20:00. Perks include cocktails, Japanese tea, snacks, and a quiet space to relax or work.

Food & Drinks

Yamazato

The hotel’s Japanese restaurant is one of the city’s best, earning regular Michelin praise for its traditional Kaiseki Ryori and expertly made sushi, sashimi, and teppanyaki.

Elements, Inspired by Ciel Bleu

This Michelin-starred restaurant combines French techniques with Japanese flavors in a stunning setting next to the pool. Inside, the open kitchen adds a theatrical element to the high-end dining experience.

Up & Above Restaurant and Bar

We first loved The Okura Prestige Bangkok on this terrace. During our stay, we enjoyed breakfast, cocktails, and the famous Afternoon Tea here. The buffet breakfast had many Western and Asian dishes, while the high tea was truly exceptional—an edible work of art.

Afternoon Tea @ Up & Above Restaurant and Bar

Served from 14:00 and 17:00, the seasonal Afternoon Tea set had about 15 delicate bites per person. From scones and macarons to savory tarts, each treat was a delight. Paired with premium teas or coffee, it was one of our favorite hotel experiences.
