Want the perfect end to your time in Thailand? We did just that in mid-August 2022, finishing our honeymoon with a luxurious three-night stay at SO/ Bangkok. With award-winning massages and amazing city views, SO/ Bangkok was like a mini-vacation—pure bliss before heading home!

Location & Accessibility: Where in Bangkok is SO/ Bangkok located?

SO/ Bangkok is ideally located at Sathorn Road and Rama IV Road, right across from green Lumpini Park. The Lumpini MRT station is just outside, and Sala Daeng BTS is a 15-minute walk. Whether visiting the busy Siam shopping area or the famous Mahanakhon Tower, getting around is easy.

Service & Hospitality

From the moment we got out of our taxi, SO/ Bangkok’s service was perfect. The staff were friendly, helpful, and gave great city tips. Special thanks to SO Tony and the team for making our check-in, stay, and check-out so easy.

Architecture & Design

The hotel’s design is impressive. Thai architect Smith Obayawat created it with help from Christian Lacroix and five top Thai designers. SO/ Bangkok is inspired by earth, wood, metal, and water. Art fans will love the Evolution Art Tunnel and pieces by French artist Chloé Kelly Miller around the hotel.

SO/ Bangkok is bold, stylish, and welcoming to all. With a relaxed vibe, it suits business travelers and honeymooners alike. The atmosphere is casual but chic, making you feel right at home.

Room types at SO/ Bangkok

SO/ Bangkok has 237 rooms and suites, all inspired by natural elements. Room types include SO Cozy, SO Comfy, SO Club, SO Studio, SO Suite, SO One Bedroom Suite, SO Lofty, and the SO VIP Duplex Suite. Every room has a free minibar, Illy coffee machine, and views of the city or park.

Living room

Our corner living room had big windows with amazing views. A comfy sofa and a nice surprise—a box of Chocolab chocolates for our wedding—made it even more special.

Bedroom

Our SO Suite had a soft bed, roomy space, and views so stunning we barely noticed the TV. A separate dressing room with robes, slippers, and storage made it feel like home.

Bathroom

A big round bathtub and freestanding shower added a touch of luxury. The double sinks had all the amenities you need. Though the tub looked great, it wasn’t very comfortable for two.

Facilities

Infinity Pool

This 32-meter pool on the 10th floor offers views of Lumpini Park and the city skyline. With sunbeds in the water, a nearby bubble bath, and a pool bar, it’s one of the best hotel pools we’ve enjoyed.

SO/ SPA

At SO/ Bangkok, we enjoyed a heavenly session at the award-winning SO/ SPA, inspired by the mythical Himmapan forest. From the moment we entered, calming scents, soft lighting, and views of Lumpini Park created pure peace.

We chose the “Serenity of Five Elements” treatment, a relaxing 90-minute massage with herbal compresses, warm oils, and skilled hands. Every move helped melt away travel tiredness.

The treatment room had a private jacuzzi and panoramic windows, adding to the luxury. After, we sipped tea in the spa lounge—relaxed and grateful, already dreaming of our next visit.

SO/ SPA is a must if you stay at the hotel—or even if you don’t. The 24/7 gym has Technogym machines and free weights. Weekly yoga classes are offered, and the pool view makes workouts more enjoyable.

Guests in SO Club rooms enjoy access to this 25th-floor lounge. Free snacks, drinks, cocktails, and stunning views await from 06:00 to 23:00.

Food & Drinks

Breakfast & Sunday Brunch at Red Oven

Every morning at SO/ Bangkok started with a smile and a quick elevator ride down to Red Oven, where fresh bread and sizzling skillets greeted us. We made it a habit to arrive early—right at opening—to get the best table with a view of Lumpini Park and watch Bangkok wake up while sipping cappuccinos in big red mugs.

Breakfast at Red Oven isn’t just a meal—it’s a tasty adventure. One day I went full Thai with spicy boat noodles and lots of chili flakes (ped maaak!), while Ilonka enjoyed the cheese counter, picking rare treats you rarely find in Thailand. And yes, there was even ice cream at breakfast. We felt like kids in a candy store.

On Sunday, we got lucky. It was time for the famous SO Sunday Brunch—an experience we’ll always remember. Soon after sitting, a half lobster appeared at our table (a surprise from the chef!), and we toasted with Prosecco while live cooking stations sizzled nearby. From sushi and sashimi to Parmigiano, roasted meats, and dreamy desserts—we didn’t know where to start or stop. It was indulgent, delicious, and the perfect way to end our Thai honeymoon.

SOSHI

Dinner at SOSHI was a highlight of our stay. On the 7th floor, this sleek Japanese restaurant offered an all-you-can-eat feast of sushi, sashimi, yakitori, and more. We chose the premium menu, and the variety was excellent. Every few minutes, our table filled with beautifully plated dishes—each tastier than the last. From delicate sashimi to warm grilled specials, every bite was perfect. The sake list was great, and the elegant setting made it ideal for a relaxed, indulgent dinner.

Chocolab & KOF

Chocolab is a small chocolate studio in the lower lobby—a cozy spot for sweet lovers. You can join a chocolate-making workshop or simply enjoy their beautiful creations. Our favorite? The signature Belgian chocolate frappé and their fun, art-inspired treats. Just across, KOF offers quality coffee and makes a great quick stop.

MIXO Bar

Perfect for cocktails with a view. With floor-to-ceiling windows and art displays, a coctail at MIXO is a must do when staying in SO/ Bangkok!.

HI-SO Rooftop Bar

Although the weather wasn’t on our side, HI-SO offers breathtaking views and stylish cocktails. We’ll be back for the full rooftop experience another time.
