Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 4: Urban comfort with a rooftop bar on top!
Searching for a modern hotel in the heart of Bangkok that ticks all the boxes—location, quality, value, and a rooftop bar with skyline views? Look no further than Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 4. Located in the buzzing Nana district and less than a 10-minute walk from BTS Nana Station, this stylish Accor hotel is the perfect spot to wrap up your trip to Thailand. Opened in late 2018, everything still feels fresh and thoughtfully designed. For us, the literal highlight was the RedSquare Rooftop Bar and adjacent rooftop pool—a serene spot high above the Bangkok bustle.

Location & Accessibility: Where in Bangkok is Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 4 located?
Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 4 sits in a quieter lane just off Sukhumvit Road in the lively Nana area. Despite being close to the nightlife of Nana Plaza, the location feels safe and surprisingly peaceful. The hotel provides a free shuttle to BTS Nana, and nearby, you’ll find countless restaurants, cafes, and shopping centers like Terminal 21. A walk or short BTS ride puts you in Asok or Siam within minutes.

Service & Hospitality
From check-in to check-out, the staff were courteous, efficient, and spoke good English. We especially appreciated the housekeeping team’s attention to detail and the friendly vibe throughout the hotel. Whether at the reception, restaurant, or rooftop, we always felt welcomed.

Architecture & Design
As part of the Accor brand, the hotel blends modern urban aesthetics with smart use of space. The lobby on the first floor is stylish and functional, while the rooftop offers one of the best layouts we’ve seen in a Bangkok mid-range hotel—open, spacious, and scenic.

Ambiance & Atmosphere
There’s a relaxed and contemporary atmosphere throughout the hotel, with touches of luxury but without being too formal. The rooftop pool and bar give it a sociable vibe, yet the rooms are calm and quiet—great for unwinding.

Room Types at Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 4
There are two main room categories: the Deluxe Room (26 m²) and the more spacious Grand Deluxe Room (33 m²), the latter of which is available with a bathtub. All rooms come with smart TVs, a minibar, work desk, safe, and ironing facilities. Large windows offer skyline views, especially from higher floors.

Our Room: Grand Deluxe Room
Bedroom
Our Grand Deluxe Room on the 16th floor was a real treat! The bed was incredibly soft, the layout functional, and the light-filled space had everything we needed. We slept like babies thanks to the well-tuned air conditioning and blackout curtains.
Living area
A comfy bench by the window gave us the perfect spot to enjoy coffee with a view. The desk setup allowed us to get some writing done for Thailand Magazine without leaving the room. And yes, the Nespresso machine was a definite bonus.
Bathroom
The bathroom felt brand new and super clean. The design cleverly opened up to the bedroom with a sliding panel, giving it a spacious feel. We loved the rain shower and the thoughtful amenities like bathrobes, toothbrushes, and quality shower gel.

Facilities
RedSquare Rooftop Bar
The RedSquare Rooftop Bar was hands-down the coolest part of the hotel. Located right next to the rooftop pool, it offers sweeping views over Bangkok. Their unique selling point? Vodka-based cocktails from around the world. Perfect for sunset sips or a stylish nightcap.

Rooftop Pool
This saltwater pool with skyline views is a stunner. Open from 07:00 to 18:00, it’s a wonderful spot to cool off or catch the morning light. Our only minor gripe? Limited sunbeds—hopefully more will be added post-Covid.

Fitness Center
The 7th-floor gym, aptly named In Balance, is well-equipped and overlooks a small city garden. It’s a great space for staying active while traveling.

Food & Drinks
Food Exchange
Located on the ground floor, Food Exchange serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast buffet was varied, with hot dishes, fresh fruit, pastries, congee, eggs-to-order, and even banana bread. We also had lunch here and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious Thai and Western set menus.
Breakfast experience
We loved starting our day with a breakfast at Food Exchange. The banana bread and pancakes were delightful, and the egg station kept us coming back for seconds. Thai dishes and congee gave it a local flair.
Lunch experience
For lunch, we ordered a Thai set and a Western set. Both were tasty and very reasonably priced. Our drinks—a watermelon shake and iced coffee—were refreshing and well-made.

RedSquare Rooftop Bar experience
We spent multiple evenings at RedSquare. The vibe was great, and the cocktails—especially the vodka mixes—were flavorful and creative. It was the perfect place to wind down with views of Bangkok’s lights.
